Last Day Reflections

Last Day Reflections

What did you learn about photography that you did not know before?

In photography class this semester I learned a lot about photography that I did not know. Before I took this class I thought that taking a photo was clicking a button on the camera and it would some how magically appear on my screen. I did not know how the aperture and the amount of light and how the camera actually worked and through this semester I have learned a lot more about it.

What did you learn about yourself this semester?

This semester in the class I have learned some things about myself. Photography amazes me. There are so many different things that can be seen in a single photo. So many different ways to dissect the photo.

What do you wish we had done that we did not?

There isn't anything really that we didn't cover that I really wanted to do. I just wish that we did a lot more film. I loved working with the film cameras and putting our photos through the developing process. When the photos didn't turn out well it really made me want to  do better the next time and I would have the satisfaction of that,  but when we didn't do film again it was pretty upsetting.

What was your struggle?

My struggle in this class would be mainly the computers. I am not very computer savvy and had a hard time with keeping up with photoshop. And because everything was edited on photoshop I didn't really have the time outside of class to catch up because I don't have photoshop available to me at home. Also another part of that is cheer. It was very hard for me to keep up in class and the things I needed to finnish, I couldn't at home and it is very hard being apart of such a time consuming sport needing to catch up on things and stay after school.

What did you conquer?

In this class this semester I conquered Learning new things about computers, photoshop, cameras and technology. I also conquered getting the majority of my projects and assignments in and on time and also getting an A in the class which is awesome.

OVERALL

I am very glad I took this class because not only did I get to take photos which I have always loved to do, I got to learn a lot about it. I also got to meet a lot of new people and meet my AMAZING teacher Mr. Scott Hohman!

Thank you, Bye.

Web Assignment #5

-How would you define beauty in photography?
-What are the characteristics of photographic beauty?
-Can something "ugly" be photographed and be considered beautiful? Why? How? Examples?
-(Photos)

-I think beauty in photography could be anything. From colorful to black and white I think that anyone can think any photograph is beautiful and it is.
-I personally think all photographs are beautiful. It was taken for a reason and someone had a meaning for it and photographs can have different meaning and can be read in different ways by different people.
-Yes. There are ways to make something "ugly" look beautiful in a lot of ways. For example you could zoom really close to the "ugly" object and find something beautiful in everything.
